Jenessa Clark and Micheal Regina met at Leslieville Farmers market in 2018. Jenessa managed the Leslieville farmers market through the 2018 season while Mike tested the fields with market gardening. In 2019, they came together as a team to form their very own Organic market garden in Campbellford, Ontario. Striving to work with nature, learn sustainable agriculture practices, and provide high quality food for their local community, Jenessa and Mike would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting the site and a sincere thank you to everyone that supports their efforts!
Using a mixture of wood chips, old crops pulled out of the garden, and manure from our barn, we compose our very own compost for the vegetables we grow.
We amend our garden beds with elements selecting amendment options listed by OMRI (Organic material review Institute).
Bountiful and healthy crops, water retention, good soil structure, and non-compaction are all a result of minimal disturbance to the soil and the organisms which call it home.
By using simple insect netting, we avoid using harmful pesticides that harm our environment.
By growing a diverse range of annual and perennial vegetable and flower crops in the garden, we encourage many native pollinators and birds to feast.
We focus on using tools that do not require fossil fuels or electricity when possible. This low-tech approach is our sincere effort towards sustainability.
